Helen Keller International (HKI) /Nepal, an International non-profit organization (INGO) works to improve the sight and lives of the vulnerable by combatting the causes and consequences of blindness, poor health and malnutrition through public health approaches, building the capacity of organizations, and contributing to policy changes through systems strengthening and operations research. HKI/Nepal is currently seeking applications from experienced and self-motivated Nepali nationals for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening. This is a Nepalganj based position for up to 9 months.
Overall Responsibilities: The position will be responsible for ROP screening using a Forus Fundus camera, working closely with participating hospitals in Nepalgunj – NGMC Nepalganj, NGMC Kohalpur, Bheri Zonal Hospital and Fateh Bal Eye Hospital. Training on ROP screening using Forus Fundus camera will be provided. The consultant will work with the hospitals to regularize ROP screening and counselling and to establish the data system.
Educational Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) Nursing with 2 years of relevant experience in the field of pre-term/NICU care OR Ophthalmic Assistant (OA) with 2 years of experience; strong coordination skills; demonstrated capability in handling newborn babies; experience working in a clinical setting and knowledge of Retinopathy of Prematurity.
