Helen Keller International is an International non-profit organization (INGO) working in health and nutrition in Nepal since 1989 to improve the nutritional status of women and young children through evidence-based research and programs. Helen Keller International, CARE, FHI 360, Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG), Digital Broadcast Initiative Equal Access (DBIEA), Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO), Vijaya Development Resource Center (VDRC) together are implementing USAID funded Suaahara II Program in 42 districts. Applications are invited from interested, committed, dynamic team players and experienced Nepali nationals or foreigners with work permit in Nepal for the following position:

Consultant -Writers (no-2) (60 working days over the period of four months)

Summary of Job Purpose: This position will work closely with the Knowledge Management Team and support thematic leads and technical staffs in the areas of health, nutrition, agriculture, governance, social and behavior change communication, public private partnership, water, sanitation and hygiene and gender equality and social inclusion to produce high quality knowledge products reflecting on the lessons and observations from 7-year implementation of the Suaahara II program. Working closely with the thematic leads and technical staff, he/she will improve on the draft prepared by Suaahara in terms of structure, flow, coherence, content, conciseness, and presentation.  S/he will be responsible for developing the final drafts of each of the documentation/knowledge products to a point where it is shareable with an external audience.

Educational qualifications and experiences: Advanced university degree in Communication, Journalism, writing or copy-editing; a proven experience of at least 5 years in content writing, copy-editing; native or near native fluency in English is required; ability to handle multiple assignments with competing deadlines; able to work under pressure and tight deadlines; and an understanding of the issues related to health and nutrition will be an added advantage.
